How the Fellowship Works

The California Climate Action Corps Fellowship is a national service program led by California Volunteers and implemented by Bay Area Community Resources dedicated to advancing climate actions that engage community members, cultivate change, and leave a lasting impact.

As part of a larger statewide initiative to address the climate crisis, the California Climate Action Corps Fellowship places emerging leaders with local organizations to mobilize communities through climate volunteer engagement, climate action and education service projects focused on urban greening, organic waste and edible food recovery, and wildfire resiliency.

Selected Fellows are AmeriCorps members serving 1,200 hours over 7.5 months from February 1, 2024 through September 13, 2024. Fellows support Host Partners and communities throughout the state, principally in underserved communities.

As a California Climate Action Corps Fellow, you will have:

  • Professional development opportunities such as training and climate-related certifications to learn real-world climate action and community engagement skills.
  • An opportunity to serve with a public agency, tribe, nonprofit, or educational institution committed to engaging their community in taking action on climate change where you will be provided support for the implementation of your service projects.
  • An opportunity to be part of this unique program, community, and statewide force of emerging leaders.
