You said yes to service. Now it’s time to make it official.
The California Service Corps Swearing-In Ceremony is where your service begins in full. It’s the moment you take your oath of service, step into your role and officially join thousands of Californians who have chosen to show up for their communities.
You are part of a historic cohort: the final class to be sworn in under Governor Gavin Newsom’s Administration, marking eight years of building and growing the California Service Corps. This isn’t just a milestone. This is the moment you officially join a 10,000-strong statewide service community, united across AmeriCorps California, California Climate Action Corps, #CaliforniansForAll College Corps and Youth Service Corps.

About the California Service Corps
The California Service Corps is your chance to serve and grow and consists of four unique programs that engage you to fight climate change, mentor students, support disaster recovery, reduce hunger and more. Service members earn money, build skills and expand their career network.
About Our Programs
Dedicated service across education, disaster relief, workforce development, and public health. Members earn a living allowance and education award.
Service on the front lines of California’s climate crisis, building resilience and advancing environmental stewardship in communities most impacted by climate change.
College students earning a degree also work toward an education award while serving in climate action, K-12 education, and food insecurity initiatives across California.
Paid service opportunities for Californians ages 16 to 24, building skills and opening pathways to careers in public service.

Venue & Conduct
The May Lee State Office Complex is an active state government facility. We ask that all attendees conduct themselves professionally and respectfully throughout the event, as it takes place during regular business hours in a working state building.
Dress Code
Each service member will receive a California Service Corps t-shirt to wear on the day of the event. Your shirt will be provided to you.
Accessibility
The May Lee State Office Complex is ADA accessible with level entrances, elevator access, and accessible restrooms throughout. For accommodation requests, please indicate this on your RSVP form.

Transportation
Getting There
Dedicated bus transportation will be provided for those who have indicated group transportation on their RSVP form. You also have the option to arrange your own transportation.
How It Works
- Indicate your transportation preference on the RSVP form.
- We’ll communicate your bus pick-up location closer to the event date. Pick-up location is based on need so RSVP is critical.
- Buses will arrive at the May Lee State Office Complex in time for the event start time.
- Return buses will bring you back to your departure location following the event.
Be Advised
Bus transportation is the only transportation option provided for this event. Paid parking is available for those who wish to coordinate their own transportation. No reimbursements will be available.
Parking
For anyone not taking the provided bus transportation, paid parking is available on-site.
What to Expect/Day-of Information
Check-In
A host partner representative will guide you through part of the process prior to arrival at the venue. Upon arrival at the May Lee State Office Complex, check-in will continue at the designated event area. Look for signage when you arrive.
What to Bring
- A valid photo ID
- Your bus pickup confirmation (to be shared by your host partner)
What You’ll Receive
Each fellow will receive a California Service Corps t-shirt to wear on the day of the event. You will also receive a welcome packet at check-in on site.
Food & Beverages
Meals and refreshments will be served on site. Please note that no food or beverages (except bottled water) are permitted in the auditorium.
If you have dietary restrictions or food allergies, please indicate this on your RSVP form ahead of time.
Photography & Media
This event will be photographed and may be recorded for use in California Volunteers and California Service Corps communications. A cohort group photo will also be taken on the day of the event. By attending, you consent to the use of your likeness in event photography and media content by California Volunteers and GO-Serve.

FAQs
Who is invited to attend?
This ceremony celebrates all California Service Corps members. However, due to limited seating capacity, the event is invite-only. A livestream link will be shared ahead of the event for those unable to attend in person.
Is there a cost to attend?
No. This event is free for invited guests.
How will I get to the event?
Dedicated bus transportation will be provided for those who have indicated need on their RSVP form. You will be picked up from a designated location near your host site or campus and transported directly to the May Lee State Office Complex. Bus pickup locations and schedules will be posted here once confirmed.
Is there parking at the venue?
For anyone not taking the provided bus transportation, paid parking is available on-site at the May Lee State Office Complex Parking Garage at 201 N 6th Street, Sacramento. Daily rates are $1.25 per 20 minutes ($8 daily maximum), available Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Paid street parking is also available.

What if I have an accessibility need?
For specific accommodation requests, including ASL interpretation, CART captioning or mobility assistance, please indicate this on the RSVP form.
What if I need to cancel or update my registration?
If your event preferences change after registration, please resubmit your RSVP form with the correct information. If you can no longer attend the event please click here and fill out this form.
