Join us for the California Climate Action Corps Community Climate Action Day, a volunteer service event and celebration hosted in collaboration with California Climate Action Corps, Community Organized Relief Effort, City of Chico, and Butte County community organizations!

Event check-in begins at 8:30 a.m. and the kickoff at 9 a.m. at DeGarmo Park, with featured speakers including California Chief Service Officer Josh Fryday and Butte County Supervisor Tami Ritter. Volunteers will receive a t-shirt and light breakfast before departing for their service projects, which start at 10 a.m.

Volunteers will be completing service projects in many different areas, including:

  • Brush thinning and removal for wildfire resilience.
  • Tree planting.
  • Community outreach and canvassing on food waste and composting.
  • Community outreach and canvassing on home hardening and defensible space creation for wildfire preparedness.
  • And more!

Service projects end at 12 p.m., after which the celebration continues with free lunch and fun! The event ends at 2 p.m.
