Be Disaster Ready!
Take necessary precautions to be disaster ready, whether it’s for wildfire, extreme heat, drought, flooding or something else. Have a go-bag packed, sign up for emergency alerts, create defensible space around your home and have an evacuation plan (and practice it).

Climate Action Counts helps us prepare and better support neighbors when emergencies occur, now the norm in our area. Chico State is fortunate to have California Climate Action Corps fellows serving year-round with local organizations, schools, agencies and tribal governments to increase emergency preparedness. Serving with partners and community volunteers, California Service Corps Fellows implement prescribed burns and fuel removal projects in parks and forests. Dead trees are milled on-site and upcycled. Fellows support planning efforts, staff emergency centers and share tested strategies — through board games, scavenger hunts and door-to-door canvassing — to help neighbors prepare for emergencies.
