CARB is the primary state agency responsible for actions to protect public health from the harmful effects of air pollution. From guiding the activities of 35 local air pollution control districts, to leading our states efforts to address global climate change, CARB has pioneered many of the approaches now used worldwide to address air quality problems.
With transportation, little trips matter and together we can make a big impact. Californians have the power to collectively make a big difference by choosing to shift how we travel, even if itβs only one trip a week. When students and families walk to school or more people carpool, vanpool, ride a bike or take public transit, our entire community benefits. Give it a try!”

North Natomas Jibe is a Sacramento nonprofit helping our neighborhood choose greener transportation that advance a thriving community. We make it easier for kids to walk and bike to school and help people get to work and run errands without needing to drive alone. There are simple changes you can make to be part of the movement! Here are some great ways to start:
- Combine errands and do them all in one trip instead of many.
- Instead of dropping your student at school, park and walk from several blocks away.
- Walk to lunch instead of driving.
