Requesting Volunteers to Serve at Your Organization
California Volunteers uses the third-party platform Idealist to promote volunteer opportunities across California. If your organization is looking for volunteers, you can post an opportunity directly on the Idealist platform.
GET STARTED
1. Join Idealist for free at: www.idealist.org/en/orgs/post-free-volunteer-listings and log-in using an email address with administrator access.
2. Navigate to your organization’s dashboard by clicking your name at the top right corner and selecting your organization from the drop-down menu.
3. Click “Create New Listing,” then select the “Volunteer Opportunity” listing type.
4. Make sure your volunteer opportunities are listed with a California zip code. Once listed, your event will be promoted on our volunteer page at: www.californiavolunteers.ca.gov/volunteer-opportunities/.
