California leads with service — and we are fighting back!

As the federal government turns its back on AmeriCorps and threatens to dismantle its service, California is stepping up. Let us be clear: our state remains unwavering in its commitment to service — and to the individuals who power it.

DOGE isn’t just cutting jobs—they’re attacking the very people who keep California strong. They’re coming after the service members who responded to the LA fires, the tutors helping our kids and the young leaders caring for our seniors. It’s outrageous, it’s illegal and we won’t back down.

This is why California, alongside dozens of other states, has filed a lawsuit against the Trump administration to stop these attacks on AmeriCorps. Read the Governor’s Office news release here.

If you’ve served with AmeriCorps, we see you. We value you. We want to stay connected and share your story. California Service Corps members are making impact throughout the state. Tag and collab with your organization and @CaliforniaVolunteers on social media and fill out the form.

While D.C. attempts to tear down AmeriCorps, California is building up. We are still recruiting for paid California Service Corps members to serve in communities across the state.

Fill out the questionnaire and we will follow up with more opportunities.
