Grant Description
#CaliforniansForAll College Corps is a Governor’s initiative administered by California Volunteers in partnership with California colleges and universities with a strong commitment to civic and community engagement. The purpose of this initiative is to build the next generation of civic leaders by engaging college students from all backgrounds in meaningful community service while providing them with a path toward reducing college debt. College Corps began in 2022 and since its launch, nearly 10,000 College Corps Fellows have served over 3.86 million hours in their local communities.
California Volunteers is offering a one-time funding opportunity to support up to two new College Corps campuses in the Los Angeles area to assist with recovery from the Palisades and Eaton Wildfires. Fellow activities will focus specifically on wildfire recovery efforts such as K-12 education support, social services and wildfire mitigation.
Eligible Applicants
To be eligible for this grant opportunity, an applicant must be:
- Institutes of higher education (as defined in 2 CFR §200.1).
- Located within Los Angeles County.
- New to College Corps, defined as not having previously implemented a state-funded College Corps program.
All applicants must have active registration with the System for Award Management (SAM) at https://www.sam.gov/SAM/. Registration must be active at time of application.
Program Goals
In support of addressing California’s critical challenges, College Corps has three primary goals:
- Engage college students in meaningful service opportunities that build leadership skills and civic responsibility.
- Help students from diverse backgrounds graduate college on time and with less debt.
- Support the work of community-based organizations focused on wildfire recovery (e.g., K-12 education, food insecurity, climate action, disaster preparedness and recovery)
Application Deadline
Applicants are required to complete a Pre-Registration form by March 6, 2026. Applicants must submit this form to submit an application.
