Grant Description
The California Student Success Coach Grant Program, managed by California Volunteers (CV) in collaboration with an AmeriCorps lead program, focuses on enhancing student success coaching through evidence-based practices. In the previous phase, CV invested in an organization that supported six key drivers of student success: strong student-coach relationships, skilled coaches, supportive structure, data-driven programming, ongoing development, and school integration. This initiative created the SSC Learning Network, improving student success across AmeriCorps programs in California.
In the next phase, CV will grant one existing AmeriCorps education program to strengthen the impact of student success coaches in California. The recipient will focus on recruitment strategies and further solidifying the Student Success Coach model, with an emphasis on recruitment and ongoing learning. The grantee will also provide training and technical support for AmeriCorps education programs, including the development of recruitment tools and campaigns. The grant will directly support the operation of the AmeriCorps program implementing the Student Success Coach model.
Eligible Applicants
Nonprofit organizations and state and local government agencies are eligible to apply.
This phase of the California Student Success Coach Grant Program is open to any single organization that:
- currently operates an AmeriCorps program in California that implements all six drivers of student success coaching model with great fidelity (see RFA for details);
- has a proven track record of developing and facilitating learning networks and providing training and technical assistance focused on the Student Success Coach model; and
- has significant experience recruiting AmeriCorps members from different markets/geographic locations across the state.
